Marcus Francis Herald
Inspiration in every breath
Marcus F. Herald is a Canadian writer whose curiosity moves easily between places, ideas, and people. He writes in English and French and has travelled widely, always attentive to the character of a city, a shared meal, a conversation, or an unexpected detail along the way.
Beyond writing, Marcus’s interests are deliberately wide-ranging: politics, science of the mind and paranormal, flowers and gardens, visual arts, food, wine, and music, especially music that makes people want to dance.
A devoted home cook, he enjoys creating meals for the family he has built by choice: a circle held together by affection, loyalty, friendship, and shared history. His winters are spent in a favourite warm place in Europe, where he reads, writes, cooks, observes, and remains open to whatever new subject captures his attention.
Marcus believes that good conversation is one of life’s great pleasures, particularly when it is thoughtful, curious, and willing to explore more than one point of view.
His first novel, *The Island*, is an adventure-fantasy story.
